SUBJECT: CLARIFICATION REGARDING CWSN CANDIDATES AND FACILITIES EXTENDED TO THEM- REGARDING.
This in continuation of Board’s Circular dated 14/02/2020 regarding Medical Certificate in respect of, candidates with Intellectual Disability/Mental Illness and various other circulars and communications sent by the Board from time to time enumerating various facilities extended to the Candidates with Special Needs.
It is once again to inform all the stake holders that
1. CBSE is fully committed to ensure the implementation of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 in its true spirit.
2. CBSE has implemented the directions issued by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities from time to time as far as applicable and practicable in the field of school education.
3. CBSE Circular dated 14/02/2020 was not meant for laying down any rule or procedure as such and was merely aimed at informing the stake holders about the details notified in the Gazette of India (Extraordinary) Part 11, Section 3, Sub-section (ii) dated January 5, 2018 regarding assessment of the extent of specified disability in a person included under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. Hence, all schools are needed to follow the directions issued by Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and Department.
In case of any ambiguity, schools, students and other concerned are requested to follow the instructions issued by Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and Department, Government of India for details.
4. CBSE, in future also will keep striving earnestly, sincerely and persistently towards its endeavour for welfare and ensuring rights of its students who are included under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
