Continuing the welfare schemes’ row, the Karnataka State Government has unveiled Arundhati and Maitri Schemes for the girls in brahmin families of the state. The Arundhati/Maitri Scheme’s main objective is to provide financial support to Brahmins’ brides who marry priests/Archakas/Purohits. Under the Arundathi scheme, the girl’s family will get Rupees 25,000 for the marriage. However, the beneficiaries under Maitreyi Yojana will get 3,00,000 for the girls who marry the priests. The applicants can avail themselves of the scheme’s benefits by applying online on the official portal.

Arundathi/Maitreyi Yojana Eligibility Guidelines

Let us see the eligibility criteria that an applicant should fulfill to get eligible for the scheme.

  • The applicants must be permanent residents of Karnataka State.
  • The candidates applying for the scheme should belong to economically backward classes.
  • The Bride must belong to the Brahmin community and should have the relevant certificate for the same.
  • The marriage of the Bride and groom should be their first marriage.
  • The applicants should produce a registration certificate of the marriage on demand.
