CONSTRUCTION OF HOUSES UNDER PMAY-G IN ASSAM

Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:

(a) the details of the number of houses constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAYG) during the last five years in the country particularly in the State of Assam along with the proposed number of such houses to be constructed by 2022 in each State; and

(b) the procedure laid down by the Government for the allotment of houses under PMAY-G?

(a) In order to achieve the objective of “Housing for All”, the erstwhile rural housing scheme Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) has been restructured into Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana- Gramin (PMAY-G) w.e.f. 1st April, 2016. Under PMAY-G, from 2016-17 to till date, a total of 1,50,05,351 houses have been constructed in the entire country, which also includes 4,22,612 houses constructed in the State of Assam. The State-wise number of such houses proposed to be constructed by March 2022 in each State is given at Annexure.

(b) Under PMAY-G, the beneficiaries are identified based on the housing deprivation parameters and 13 point exclusion criteria in Socio Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011 and a new survey Awaas+ 2018 to identify the left out eligible households subject to due verification by Gram Sabha and completion of Appellate Process. Thus, a system generated/ Auto generated priority lists were circulated to the States/UTs for conduct of Gram Sabha verification and preparation of the GP/Village wise Permanent Wait List (PWL) of PMAY-G.
