General election to the Legislative Assemblies of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Mizoram &Telangana, 2018 – Ban on Exit Poll.
Election Commission of India, in exercise of the powers under sub-section(1) of Section 126A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 notified the period between 7.00 A.M. on 12.11.2018 and 5.30 P.M. on 07.12.2018 as the period during which conducting any exit poll and publishing or publicizing the result of exit poll by means of the print or electronic media or in any other manner shall be prohibited in the ongoing general elections to the Legislative Assemblies of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Mizoram &Telangana, 2018.
Further, under Section 126(1)(b) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, displaying any election matter including results of any opinion poll or any other poll survey, in any electronic media, would be prohibited during the period of 48 hours ending with the hour fixed for conclusion of poll in each of the phase in connection with the aforesaid general elections.
Notification dated 8th November, 2018 issued in this regards is enclosed herewith for the information of all concerned.

निर्वाचन आयोग ने छत्तीसगढ़, मध्य प्रदेश, राजस्थान, मिजोरम और तेलंगाना के विधानसभा चुनाव
2018 के मद्देनजर इलेक्ट्रॉनिक या प्रिंट मीडिया अथवा अन्य किसी माध्यम से चुनाव बाद सर्वेक्षण-एक्जिट पोल कराए जाने अथवा इसे प्रकाशित या प्रसारित करने पर रोक लगा दी है। आयोग ने जन-प्रतिनिधित्व कानून-
1951 की धारा
126ए की उपधारा-ए के तहत प्रदत्त अपने अधिकारों का उपयोग करते हुए यह रोक लगाई है। यह रोक
12 नवंबर तथा 7 दिसंबर, 2018 को सुबह 7 बजे से लेकर शाम साढ़े पांच बजे तक प्रभावी रहेगी।
जन-प्रतिनिधित्व कानून की धारा 126(1)(बी) के तहत उपरोक्त राज्यों में विधानसभा चुनावों के लिए मतदान समाप्त होने के निर्धारित समय से 48 घंटे तक प्रिंट या इलेक्ट्रॉनिक मीडिया अथवा किसी अन्य माध्यम से एक्जिट पोल के नतीजे प्रकाशित या प्रसारित करने पर रोक लगाई गई है।
सभी संबंधित पक्षों के लिए इस संदर्भ में आयोग की ओर से 8 नवंबर को जारी अधिसूचना विज्ञप्ति के साथ संलग्न की गई है।
