1st International Conference on Sustainable Water Management at Mohali from tomorrow
The first International Conference under the aegis of National Hydrology Project, Union Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation is being organised by Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) during 10-11 December, 2018 at Indian School of Business (ISB), Mohali on the theme ‘Sustainable Water Management’. The theme of the Conference deals with promoting integrated and sustainable development and management of Water Resources.
Hon’ble Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Acharya Devvrat has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest and Shri U.P. Singh, Secretary, Government of India, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation will be the Guest of Honour at the inaugural session of the Conference on 10.12.2018.
A number of Experts & Delegates from reputed organisations from both within India and from other countries like Australia, United Kingdom, USA, Spain, Netherlands, Republic of Korea, Canada, Germany, Sri Lanka etc. will be taking part in the event to deliver their experience and expertise in the use of state of art technology to the stakeholders for sustainable development of water resources.The participation in the conference is by invitation and more than 400 delegates have been registered. About 20 companies and organizations will be putting up stalls in exhibition to show case their activities in the area of sustainable water resources management.
The aim of the Conference is to foster the participation of and dialogue between various stakeholders, including governments, the scientific and academic communities, so as to promote sustainable policies for water management, to create awareness of water-related problems, motivate commitment at the highest level for their solution and thus promote better management of water resources at local, regional, national and international levels.

टिकाऊ जल प्रबंधन पर पहला अंतरराष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन कल से मोहाली में आयोजित होगा
केंद्रीय जल संसाधन, नदी विकास एवं गंगा कायाकल्प मंत्रालय की राष्ट्रीय जलविद्युत परियोजना के तत्वाधान में ‘टिकाऊ जल प्रबंधन- विषय पर पहला अंतरराष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन मोहाली के इंडियन स्कूल ऑफ बिजनेस (आईएसबी) में 10-11दिसंबर, 2018 को आयोजित किया जा रहा है। सम्मेलन की विषयवस्तु जल संसाधनों के समेकित एवं टिकाऊ विकास एवं प्रबंधन को बढ़ावा देने से संबंधित है।
हिमाचल प्रदेश के माननीय राज्यपाल आचार्य देवव्रत मुख्य अतिथि होंगे एवं भारत सरकार के केंद्रीय जल संसाधन, नदी विकास एवं गंगा कायाकल्प मंत्रालय के सचिव श्री यू.पी सिंह 10.12.2018 को सम्मेलन के उद्घाटन सत्र के विशिष्ट अतिथि होंगे।
भारत एवं ऑस्ट्रेलिया, ब्रिटेन, अमेरिका, स्पेन, नीदरलैंड, कोरिया गणराज्य, कनाडा, जर्मनी, श्रीलंका आदि जैसे अन्य देशों के विख्यात संगठनों के कई विशेषज्ञ एवं प्रतिनिधि समारोह में भाग लेंगे एवं जल संसाधनों के टिकाऊ विकास के लिए हितधारकों को अत्याधुनिक प्रोद्योगिकी के उपयोग में अपना अनुभव एवं अपनी विशेषज्ञता साझा करने के लिए सम्मेलन में भाग लेंगे।
सम्मेलन में भागीदारी निमंत्रण के जरिये है और 400 से अधिक प्रतिनिधि पंजीकृत हो चुके हैं। लगभग 20 कंपनियां प्रदर्शनी में अपने स्टॉल लगा रही हैं जिससे कि टिकाऊ जल संसाधन प्रबंधन के क्षेत्र में अपने कार्यकलापों को प्रदर्शित कर सकें।
सम्मेलन का उद्वेश्य सरकारों, वैज्ञानिक एवं शैक्षणिक समुदायों सहित विभिन्न हितधारकों के बीच सहभागिता एवं संवाद को बढ़ावा देना है जिससे कि जल प्रबंधन के लिए टिकाऊ नीतियों को बढ़ावा दिया जा सके, जल संबंधित समस्याओं को लेकर जागरुकता बढ़ाई जा सके, उनके समाधान के लिए सर्वोच्च स्तर पर प्रतिबद्धता प्रेरित की जा सके और इस प्रकार स्थानीय, क्षेत्रीय, राष्ट्रीय एवं अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तरों पर जल संसाधन के बेहतर प्रबंधन को बढ़ावा दिया जा सके।
